The Basics of Laser (1)

Wednesday, October 31st, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Liek_Sari_Handikin] Liek Sari Handikin What is laser? Laser is a light as the result of a technology called Light Amplification by Stimulated Emmission of Radiation. The acronym of this technology became what we acknowledge as laser. What is the basic theory of laser? The basic concept of laser was first established by Albert Einstein in The Quantum Theory of Radiation (1917). In a ground state condition, atomic energy or molecules are surrounded by electrons. If there is sufficient amount of energy absorbed by the atoms or molecules, then the electron will be positioned in a higher orbit. The electron will be back to the previous orbit while emitting a light spontaneously (spontaneous emission). The unit of this light energy is called photon. In 1960, Maiman successfully invented laser light from ruby crystal. How can a laser be produced? Laser is produced by placing atoms in a cavity which then given an electrical energy. The atoms will convert in an excited state called population inversion. Photon emission is parallel with the same speed, direction, and frequency. On one side of the cavity there is a mirror with total reflection ability, while on the other side there is a partial mirror from which the laser comes out. What are the active media to produce laser? Active material (or active media) to produce laser can be in the form of gas (Helium-Neon, carbon dioxide, Argon), liquid (dye in organic solution), solid (alexandrite, neodymium, erbium, chromium), or semi-conductor (gallium arsenide, diode). What Is Our Problem with Submit?

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

By Dionna Sanchez Eph. 5:22 Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. I think a lot of wives cringe when people refer to this verse in the Bible and Im not sure why. The only reason I can think of is that they are afraid this means they are to be like a doormat to their spouse; to allow him to walk all over their needs, desires, and wishes. If we think carefully about it that sentiment of feeling out of control is simply our pride talking. This Bible verse tells us to submit to our husbands AS TO THE LORD. Does God walk all over us and rule us without thought to our feelings? NO! He loves us and wants us to be honest with him. God wants us to be happy. He wants to bless us. I believe that submitting to my husband means to respect him as the leader of our home. It means to have a healthy reverence for him; to not badmouth him or go behind his back in pursuit of my own desires. There will be times when I need to allow my husband to have the final word of authority in our house. But you know what? My husband needs to earn my respect and be worthy of the leadership role, as well. As wives, we need to get over the me thing. We have a very important role in marriage. We have thoughts and ideas, and our opinions should be consulted. We are part of the marriage team with our spouse. But when it comes to moments in time wheresomeone needs to take leadership or make a final decision on an issue; we need to submit to our husbands in that area. The word submit shouldnt scare us or make us think we need to act like slaves to our spouse. It should merely encourage us to be a helpmate to our husband who is the man of the house. If we fill our role in the way God intended; satisfaction, peace, and love will flow out of us and radiate into our homes. And not only our marriage, but also our family will function the way it should. ~ Dionna Sanchez is continually learning how to be a better wife to her husband Eliseo. What are Cash Advances? Should You Be Using Them?

Monday, October 29th, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Tyson_J_Stevenson]Tyson J Stevenson Sometimes it does happen that before payday comes, one completely runs out of funds and it becomes very difficult to carry out his/her daily activities. So, if you are short on cash, a company that offers cash advances may be able to help you. Deferred deposit loans, are commonly known as cash advances or payday loans. Typically, a cash advance is a short-term advance that is due on your next payday that is the reason it is also known as payday loan. Day by day it is becoming more popular method for consumers to access speedy liquid cash. As every loan is given for a certain time period, payday loans are also given for a period of not more than a month; however under special circumstances the period of time can change. Some people are under the misconception that cash advances or payday loans are taken in advance for their payday and are not to be returned. But in reality they are just loans and are to be cleared off. If one has taken a payday loan, no matter what the time of repayment be, one has to pay a flat fee, as it is a compulsion. If someone is in need of fast cash and wants to opt for advance cash, he/she should be employed and must have an active bank account. As it comes to the amount of the fees payable, it is generally fixed at 25% of the total amount of money borrowed. Another important fact to be considered is that there is a limit to the amount one can borrow as payday loan. The loan amount is generally fixed up to a maximum of $500 to $1000. With such a high fees attached with it, they are very expensive way to borrow. Previously, it was not very easy to get cash advance loans, but in the present time with the advancement in the field of technology and financial aspects, one can very easily get the cash advance. If one needs a loan, then one can easily find a company of his preference as there are plenty of them offering ready cash advance. Now, one also has the option of getting cash advances online with less hustles and more efficiency. The process of getting cash advances has been simplified enough to get all the requirements completed without much trouble. The days of waiting for a long period of time to get the loans are no more there. Tyson J Stevenson writes on a wide variety of “every day” subjects, most often with valuable news & reviews. Choosing the Wedding Disc Jockey

Sunday, October 28th, 2007

By Ispas Marin Your wedding day is the day when all the details that you’ve always thought about will come together and planing that day may take more than a year to plan. Having the right disc jockey playing the perfect music and creating the atmosphere can get you surprised bringing family and friend closer than ever before. If you understood the importance of a good wedding disc jockey then now comes the though part, finding it. And that takes some looking into and the effort is worth it. Recommended would be not to go the easy way, relying on advertising and other third hand references. Instead, you could ask the banquet manager of some respected banquet facilities in your area for some disc jockey refferals. It’s important that you get the best disc jockey you can find, this is not the area to cut the budget. Book the disc jockey for your wedding at least one year in advance to make sure you have the best. After making a list of possible disc jockeys you should interview each one and ask your questions before they start selling themselves. Here is a list of questions that you should ask. - Ask about the years of experience as a disc jockey; - Ask about the type of experience, wedding or clubs; - Ask if there are back-up disc jockeys; - Ask if the person you are interviewing is the disc jockey that will be at you wedding and if not, ask to meet the actual disc jockey; - Disc jockeys range from quiet to “off the wall” so make sure you ask about their interaction with the public; - Ask the disc jockey what he’ll wear at the wedding, “tuxedoes” should be the answer; - Ask about the type of music and about how they plan to please everyone; - Ask if they play guests requests and if they keep the requests in good taste and in the atmosphere of the event; It is a lot of work but this is very important part of your wedding so make sure you and your fiancee are confident with the wedding disc jockey you’ll choose. http://www.prodjfinder.com is a Bridal Disc Jockey Directory created to simply provide a fast and easy resource to assist in planning your wedding. Acupuncture and Back Pain

Saturday, October 27th, 2007

By Betty Durden Research carried out in 2002 indicated that almost 80% of the worlds population would suffer from some kind of back pain with lower back pain being the most common type. In addition to the high rate of incidence, back pain is also known to have a high rate of recurrence in patients. With patients trying everything from over the counter painkillers to physiotherapy to gain relief from back pain, Acupuncture comes as a welcome change. Acupuncture is a natural method of treatment that involves no chemicals or surgery. Thin stainless steel needles are inserted into the body at various acupuncture points to stimulate the free flow of Chi or life force through the body. Free flowing Chi results in a healthy and pain free body. Large bodies of research have been able to establish a connection between acupuncture and relief from back pain-especially sciatica. Sciatica refers to a type of back pain in which the pain radiates from the buttocks down the legs. Sometimes, sciatica pain can also be a consequence of a muscle spasm impinging on the sciatica nerve. Acupuncture can be effectively used to alleviate muscle spasms. The results are almost immediate and can provide relief within minutes. Back pain is generally caused because muscles that are not frequently exercised and stretched are suddenly put to excessive use. Muscle spasms are common in such cases and result in the individual feeling sore, stiff and a dull ache in the back. Patients suffering from sciatica may even feel a tingling sensation or numbness. This is generally due to the narrowing of the disc space or a disc protrusion in the lumbar region. Acupuncture is used to improve blood circulation to the entire lumbar region and spinal cord. It relaxes paraspinal muscles and provides relief from muscle spasms. The increased blood flow provides greater nourishment to the discs and increases the elasticity and strengthens the spinal cord. Thus, acupuncture can be extremely effective in reducing back pain symptoms. It is important to remember that different patients respond differently to acupuncture sessions and it can take anywhere between 4-12 sessions to really feel the difference. Don’t Suffer From Chronic Pain Needlessly

Friday, October 26th, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Bob_Dean] Bob Dean As a chronic pain sufferer myself, being diagnosed with a herniated disc in my lower back, with bone disc degenerative disease, I have learned a lot about how chronic is treated, or I should say, undertreated. It’s a sad fact for whatever reason, that chronic pain goes grossly undertreated, and too many people are needlessly suffering in pain. After years and years of of my pain going undertreated, I have learned a few things that I would like to share. First of all, there seems to be a stigma when it comes to people seeking treatment from the medical community for chronic pain. Physicians are hesitant about what kind of treatment is best, especially when it comes to treating pain with narcotic medications. In a lot of cases, treatment for chronic pain can be eleviated by physical therapy, biofeedback tactics, exercise, steroids, muscle relaxers, anti-inflammatory meds, to moderate use of over the counter pain medications, without ever having to use narcotic medication. Any of these methods can be used together, separate, or in combination with great results. After trying everything I just stated, with no great positive results, I was refered by my doctor to a pain management specialist. My first reaction to my pain was that I had to have surgery. Having lower back surgery was not an option for me, for so many people have had failed back surgery, complications, other major problems, and having to have yet another back surgery. This to me seemed unecessary, and just more pain and loss of physical mobility. After telling my pain management Physician I didn’t want to have lower back surgery, he put me on a short term, low dose of hydrocodone. I was prescribed this with no relief for 3 months. After telling the physician this low dose did not help my pain, and that I needed a stronger dose, he took me off of it, and told me again he recommended surgery, and there’s nothing more he could do. At this point, I felt helpless, hopeless, and feeling I wasn’t believed about my pain. After tying other Physicians, with the same result, and out of desperation, I tried using an online pharmacy. To my suprise, It was the best thing I’ve done to treat my pain. Finally I found Physicians who understood my pain, and was sympathetic to my pain. People who like me, who dont want to have surgery, and take the risk of great complications, or those who have already had surgery, and are still in pain, or people who suffer from Fibromyalgia, Joint Pain, other Back Pain, Lupus, Arthritus, or any other medical condition that causes you pain, can now get the relief they need online. People who are truly chronic pain sufferers, and have a diagnosis of a medical condition, can legally obtain strong pain medication online. As long as you have medical records and an identification, you can get the meds you need online to live a better pain free life, which to me equals a better quality of life. I hope this will help the thousands of people who are needlessly suffering from chronic pain. I have a website dedicated to helping others who suffer from chronic pain. This article is not to replace any advice or treatment from you Physician. This article simply is to inform people who suffer with pain they have an alternative in treating their pain. bob dean is a chronic pain sufferer & a webmaster of websites dedicated to helping people with pain management issues. Diet Pills

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

By Thomas Morva People who continuously wage war against fat often look for that wonder pill that will effectively aid their weight loss at the soonest possible time. But how do these pills find their way into the weight watchers consciousness? Annually, around 17.2 million Americans purchase diet pills to help them lose weight. The use of drugs to facilitate weight loss, burn more fat or minimize obesity has been the Holy Grail of many weight watchers. A lot of people who go on a diet would rather take diet pills than go on an exercise regimen coupled with a healthy and balanced diet. During the 50s and the 60s, diet pills were commonly associated with amphetamine derivatives or speed. Addiction to the drug meant that doctors were forced to stop prescribing these types of weight loss pills. Proper diet and exercise took over temporarily. Then in 1973, the Food and Drug Administration gave approval to a new weight loss drug called fenfluramine with trade name Pondimin. In the year 1996, a new drug called dexfenfluramine (trade name Redux) was introduced. Some doctors prescribed phentermine, another weight loss pill together with fenfluramine that results in a combination drug called dexfenfluramine or dex-fen-phen. How do these drugs work? These diet pills work by increasing the level of serotonin in the brain. This is a chemical or a neurotransmitter linked with improved satiety appetite and mood. Fen-phen increased this action twice, tricking the brain into believing that the stomach was full and also increased the persons rate of metabolism. These pills indeed caused weight loss but in 1997, following reports of heart valve diseases, the manufacturers of both fenfluramine and dexfenfluramine withdrew these diet pills from the market. They no longer gave prescriptions for Redux, Pondimin or Fen-phen. The medication drug called Sibutramine with trade name Meridia is the latest weight loss drug in the market. Other diet pills are still being developed while some are waiting for FDA approval. Before taking the diet pills available in the market, it is important to first consult a doctor for proper prescription. Postpartum Depression

Wednesday, October 24th, 2007

By Steve Valentino Postpartum or postnatal depression is a complex mix of physical, emotional, and behavioral changes that occur in a mother after giving birth. Depression may occur in women at during the pregnancy or after the delivery of the child. Postpartum depression occurs after delivery because of the hormonal changes in a woman’s body. About 70-80% of woman experience this, and it may appear within days of delivery or within a year. During pregnancy, the levels of two female hormones, estrogen and progesterone, rise greatly. In the first 24 hours after childbirth, these rapidly drop back to their normal non-pregnant levels. Researchers think that this fast change in hormone levels may trigger depression, just as smaller changes in hormones can affect a woman’s moods before the menstrual cycle. Also, drops in the levels of thyroid hormones which helps to regulate metabolism is responsible for prompting depression. The amount of blood in the body, the blood pressure, the immune system and metabolism all change after giving birth. These changes affect how one feels physically and emotionally, causing fatigue or mood swings. There is no exact cause known for depression after childbirth, but it’s likely that physical, emotional and lifestyle factors all play a role. Often, the depression is not recognized or treated, because some normal pregnancy changes cause similar symptoms and are happening at the same time. Tiredness, problems sleeping, stronger emotional reactions, and changes in body weight occur during and after pregnancy. But these symptoms may also be signs of depression. The major causes include a family history of depression or substance abuse, little support from family and friends, anxiety about the fetus, problems with a previous pregnancy or birth, marital or financial problems, young age of mother, feeling tiredness after delivery, broken sleep patterns, feeling less attractive, and doubting one’s ability to be a good mother. Sometimes, women think they have to be the perfect “super mom,” which can add stress. Having to stay home or indoors for longer periods of time and having less time to spend with one?s husband or partner and loved ones also results in depression. There is a difference between baby blues and postpartum depression. Baby blues can happen in the days right after childbirth and normally go away within a few days to a week, whereas postpartum depression can happen anytime within the first year after childbirth and needs to be treated by a doctor. Talk therapies and anti-depressant medicines are the best ways to overcome and avoid this depression. Taking a nap when the baby does, asking for help from family members and friends, and talking with other moms definitely helps. Keeping a diary to note down emotions and feelings also works as a vent. Depression provides detailed information on Depression, Depression Treatment, Manic Depression, Postpartum Depression and more. Depression is affiliated with Signs Of Clinical Depression. Want To Attract More Clients-Then Ask This Question

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007

By Annie Meachem When youre planning your business, what questions do you ask yourself? Maybe How can I earn a living doing what I love? Or How can I increase my profits by 50%? How can I expand my turnover? These are all vital questions for your business, and they can be answered more easily by adding in another one How can I serve my past, current and future clients better? Having the service question at the forefront gives you many benefits. Firstly it gives you the benefit of stopping your thinking being all about you, about what you do, what you offer etc. It encourages you to stand in your ideal clients shoes, and to think about how you can help them. How can you increase the value that you give your clients. How can you educate them more? How can you improve their experience of working with you? How can you make your service remarkable? You could spend a lot of time and energy thinking about these questions, so why not use a shortcut, and ask the people who know? Ask your clients these questions. Not only will you gain valuable feedback for improving your service, you might also gain some new ideas, as they may well think in a different way to you. And your clients will appreciate that you valued their input. The feedback methods that will work best for you will depend on how many clients you have if you work with ten people a year, your feedback method can be very personal, like a lunch together, but if your client numbers are much larger, you may want a more automated process. Ive been experimenting with Survey Monkey, www.surveymonkey.com, which is an easy online tool for creating a professional looking web-based survey. It enables me to not only get feedback on clients experience of my work but to ask how I can serve them more. Turning the question to How can I serve more people? can act as a catalyst to open up your thinking about how you deliver your service. This is particularly relevant if youre in a profession that traditionally charges for services by the hour. In the coaching world, for instance, many coaches are creating products, such as books and CDs, so that their work can be accessed by far more people. This approach has two by-products; firstly it provides an intermediate step in the marketing funnel, allowing potential clients to experience your approach at a smaller price and thus build their trust in you. This reduces their fears about the risks involved of working with you and makes it easier for them to become clients when theyre ready. And secondly this approach can seriously increase your income, by enabling you to build passive revenue streams. Asking to serve more brings you more. If you set your intentions at the beginning of each day and ask How can I serve today?, youre asking the Universe to connect you with the perfect people for you. This works even more so if youre really clear on the qualities of your ideal client. By putting your trust in the Universe in this way, you know that youve opened the door for the perfect person to come in. This is a far more attractive approach than saying I want a new client today. When your motivation becomes one of service rather than of personal gain, youre then genuinely unattached to the outcome. Youve thus released any resistance you might have had, and the Universe will respond accordingly! The Importance Of A Budget

Sunday, October 21st, 2007

By Sue And Chuck DeFiore Budgeting is an integral part of society. In todays hurry up and get it done society; every day we are trying to budget our time, our meals, our kids time and our money. Unfortunately for many, most of this process is done mentally and never put on paper. Remember, just as families budget time and money, your business must also develop a financial plan. This type of budget is simply a formal written summary of your goals and intentions in terms of dollars. Budgeting requires you to look ahead and formalize future goals. By establishing a budget, you can set goals for achieving a certain level of income and monitor your expenses. Many home based and small-business owners have remarked that their increase in profit margins did not occur until they had a written revenue goal and a method with which to monitor expenses. Other business owners need to know their sales levels in terms of dollars and how hard they need to work to make the budget work. Sound familiar, goals and budgeting is very much tied together. The closer you come to the goals you have set for yourself, the closer you will come to achieving the budget amount you need. Youll know you are on top of your business when you can tell your accountant that you need to sell 3.25 items per day in order to make your budget work and meet your financial goals.
